1 FTE Administrative Assistant Communication and Media (Administrative Executive Assistant A)
The Executive Council of the Government of Sint Eustatius invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:
Position: 1 FTE Administrative Assistant Communication and Media (Administrative Executive Assistant A)
Vacancy number: 26/2023
Location: Sint Eustatius, Caribbean Netherlands
Duration: Temporary for a trial period of 1 year, with the prospect of a permanent appointment.
This new exciting position is an excellent way to hone your communication skills and learn on the job. The main task will be organizing the backend of the Communications department, which means being in constant contact with the different departments and units to schedule events and activities and assist with planning.
Responsibilities
- Providing operational and administrative support;
- Organizing media events and scheduling meetings and events;
- Liaising with other departments and units to gather information on events and activities which GIS must cover;
- Provide the GIS team with accurate and timely information needed to more effectively perform their duties;
- Assisting the senior communication advisers, the social media specialist, the videographer and the webmaster in their day-to-day activities;
- Archiving and digitizing video and audio recording, as well as scanning and archiving the photo and document archives;
- Answering the phone and ensuring the information reaches the relevant team member;
- Supporting the team with data processing and filling of content information;
- Requesting or following up with the departments and units on information that needs to be published;
- Any other relevant duties assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Excellent computer skills and experience using a wide range of computer packages (especially Office 360);
- Excellent written and oral skills in English and a fair understanding of Dutch;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with people at all levels, on telephone, face to face and in writing;
- Ability to carry out research to keep up to date with communications opportunities;
- Experience in record keeping.

Terms of Employment:
The function is equivalent to scale 4 on the salary scale, with a minimum of $1,565.25 to a maximum of $2,186.47 gross per month in a 39,5-hour work week. Salary scaling is based on experience and education. Priority will be given to internal candidates in the event of equal suitability.
