Vacancy Integrity Adviser
The integrity adviser is a member of the team at the Governor's Office/Cabinet, which provides the first line of support and services to the Island Governor. The Governor plays an essential role in maintaining public order and safety on the island.
The Cabinet assists the Governor in carrying out the duties of the office related to policy, representation, leadership, and general support. This enables the Governor to properly fulfil their role as a representative of the Statia Government. In this way, the executive adviser supports the implementation of the Governor's higher supervisory powers. It also makes an important contribution to the maintenance of public order and safety on the island.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Being the first point of contact in the field of integrity for the executive council, directors, (unit) managers and employees of the Statia Government
- Advising, and reporting directly to the Governor on the handling of reports, and coordinating integrity investigations
- Working within the so-called integrity committee, working closely with two external colleagues with expertise in the field of integrity
- Based on the Code of Conduct for Integrity, making an active contribution to raising awareness and policy of integrity within the organisation. Coordinating and providing information and training to employees and managers, and working together with the confidential adviser, the P&O unit and the communication unit.
- Building a network with the aim of cooperation and exchange of knowledge and expertise. Relevant parties are the Public Entity of Bonaire, Saba, the National Office for the Caribbean Netherlands, better known by the Dutch abbreviation, RCN, the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, and external integrity agencies in the Caribbean.
- Conducting integrity investigations based on the reporting procedure and investigation protocol. In complex investigations, working together with RCN.
- The position is new to the organisation. With the necessary internal and external support, helping to further shape and provide content to this important topic; and constantly working on creating commitment and support within all sections of the public service
Specific Requirements
- At least a bachelor's degree, preferably in HRM, law, public administration or business administration
- At least three years of relevant work experience
- Good oral and written skills in Dutch and English

Terms of employment
The position is temporary for a trial period of one year, with the prospect of permanent appointment.
The salary scaling is equivalent to scale 11 on the salary scale, with a minimum of of $3922.38 and a maximum of $5101.30 gross monthly, based on a 36-hour work week. This is in accordance with the salary table of the Statia Government dated 1 January 2023. Salary scaling is based on qualification and experience. In addition, this employee will receive a holiday allowance of 8.33% an end-of-year bonus of 8.33% of the annual income.
The successful candidate must provide a certificate of good conduct (VOG) and undergo a medical for inclusion in the pension fund.
