What do we offer?

If you live outside Statia, you should know that:
- Salaries are paid in US dollars, Statia’s official currency
- Statia has its own tax legislation; income above the tax-free sum ($20,424 in 2024) will be taxed at a payroll tax rate of 30.4 per cent
- Participation in the pension scheme is compulsory, including the accompanying personal contribution
- You’ll be residing in the Caribbean Netherlands
If you’re recruited from abroad, you’re entitled to:
- A return economy class ticket
- Free shipment of household goods 10m2 and 15m2 for a family
- Free shipment of a car
- A one-time allowance of $750 ($1000 if you travel with your family) to furnish your residence, or 10 days compensation for hotel-accommodation, including a daily allowance
Housing information
There is a diverse range of temporary and permanent accommodation on the island, including Airbnb, hotels/apartments and private homes.
Transportation
The island is hilly and the temperature averages 30 degrees. Many people therefore move around the island by car or scooter. Of course, an electric bicycle is a wonderful eco and usable alternative.

Money
Payments on the island are made in US dollars, both in cash and in more and more places, via contactless payment. There are two ATM machines and an MCB bank branch. Visit MCB.
