National office of the Caribbean Netherlands (RCN)

The National office of the Caribbean Netherlands, or Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland (RCN) supports implementation of services, projects and laws on behalf of Dutch ministries.

RCN is the link between the Dutch ministries in the Netherlands which are also present on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba.

This is especially applicable in the fields of taxation, policing, fire department, immigration, transportation, infrastructure, health, education and social security. Support includes formal employment practices, business operations such as facilities management, housing, Information technology (ICT), human resources and training.

For more information please refer to this informative website: www.rijksdienstcaribischnederland.com (website is in Dutch, English and Papiemento and is relevant for the BES Islands).

Before St. Eustatius became part of the Caribbean Netherlands in 2010, it was part of The Netherlands Antilles.  In 2010 Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba became Public Entities of the Netherlands, commonly called the Caribbean Netherlands.

Aruba, Curaçao and St. Martin are countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands and therefore have a different status than Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba (BES Islands) which are Public Entities.
