F.D. Roosevelt Airport serves as the gateway to Sint Eustatius, providing vital air connections for residents, businesses, and visitors. Strategically located on the northern side of the island, the airport facilitates regional travel and supports the island’s economic development by ensuring reliable air access. 

The airport operates under the oversight of the Statia Government, ensuring compliance with aviation standards, safety regulations, and continuous improvements in passenger experience. The modern terminal, opened in July 2021, enhances travel efficiency with upgraded facilities for arrivals, departures, and airport services.

Facilities and Services

• Check-in & Security: Four check-in desks, three airline offices, luggage screening, and airside security. 

• Waiting & Arrival Areas: The gate waiting area has 44 seats. The arrivals area includes baggage claim, customs inspection, storage rooms, a meeting room, and a security and control room. 

• Aerodrome Flight Information Service Officer (AFISO) Tower: A three-storey, 136-square-metre tower with a 360-degree operational view for efficient flight and airside communication. 

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, comfortable waiting areas, and restrooms. 

• Transport: Taxi services and car rentals are available.

F.D. Roosevelt Airport is open daily from 07:00 to 21:00.

• Scheduled Services: Operated by Winair. 

• Non-Scheduled Services: Provided by Z-Air (Curaçao), Trans Anguilla Airways, and Anguilla Air Services,  

Airport Fees & Charges

• Security Charge: $2 per passenger 

• Landing Charges: 

  • Aircraft under 3 tonnes: $14.08 

  • Aircraft over 3 tonnes: $3.91 per tonne 

• Parking Fees: $2.35 per tonne per 24 hours 

• Departure Tax (Cash Only): 

  • Dutch Caribbean flights: $15 

  • International flights: $18 

Aircraft Operations & Procedures

• Pilot Communication: Pilots must first contact Princess Juliana Airport for instructions before reaching out to Statia Information Tower on VHF 118.100. Landing Permissions for Private & Charter Aircraft: Private and charter aircraft must obtain clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority Netherlands (CAA-NL). 

• Runway Details: The runway is 1,199 metres long and 30 metres wide. 

• Aircraft Storage: One hangar is available. 

• Fuel Availability: No aircraft fuel is available at the airport.
