Supporting Young People in Sint Eustatius

Youth Work is an essential and accessible service available to all young people, with a strong focus on those in high-risk situations. It plays a key role in the broader well-being and care landscape, complementing existing services. While not an end goal in itself, Youth Work is a crucial tool in advancing preventative care. The aim is to shift from intensive intervention towards prevention-based strategies, ensuring young people receive the support they need before challenges escalate.

Empowering Young People

Through Youth Work, young people are empowered by developing social talents and participating in preventative activities. These efforts guide them toward becoming responsible adults and active citizens. Youth Workers engage directly with young people in their own environments, including streets, schools, and after-school programmes, to forge meaningful connections and offer support.

Collaboration with Organisations

We collaborate with external organisations, including NGOs, that focus on youth engagement. These organisations may seek assistance in planning and organising events or activities, and we provide the additional support needed to ensure their successful implementation.

Encouraging Youth Participation

Youth participation is actively promoted, ensuring that young people have a voice in matters that affect them. Their opinions, ideas, and concerns are taken seriously, teaching them how to express themselves respectfully and effectively. The goal is to develop strong, confident young people who will become leaders of Statia’s future.

Extra Educational Support

The Rock also provides educational support for students and parents, offering guidance on furthering studies in Europe or the region. This service ensures that young people have access to the necessary information to make informed decisions about their future.
