Commissioners
The Island Commissioners play a key role in the governance and development of Sint Eustatius. Appointed by the Island Council, they oversee important policy areas that support the island’s growth and well-being.
Commissioners serve a four-year term, in line with local elections. The current Island Commissioners are Reuben Merkman and Rechelline Leerdam, each responsible for a portfolio that contributes to the island’s progress. Each commissioner is supported by their own advisors.
