Executive Council
The Executive Council is responsible for the daily governance of Sint Eustatius. It comprises of the Island Governor and two Commissioners, each overseeing specific policy areas to ensure effective governance.
Key Responsibilities of the Executive Council
A fundamental responsibility of the Executive Council is to implement decisions made by the Island Council. In addition, the Executive Council can make independent decisions, such as issuing building permits.
Accountability & Oversight
The Island Council oversees the Executive Council’s decisions and actions. During Island Council and Central Committee meetings, Executive Council members are present to provide explanations and address any questions related to their respective responsibilities.
By working together, the Executive Council, Island Council, and civil servants help ensure effective governance for Sint Eustatius.
